When you visit Southern Africa, it’s imperative that you book a trip that will allow you to experience two or more different environments. One to get your sightings of the Big 5 in the Kruger National Park; and one to completely detox alongside the shores of Mozambique. Combining the exploration of a safari and the experience of a dreamy beach resort, gives you a good variety and in our opinion is one of the best ways to showcase the beauty of Africa.
For a world class safari experience, we recommend Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge. This safari lodge is situated within the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and has been featured in National Geographic’s Unique Lodges of the World. The lodge also takes great pride in taking care and preserving its surrounding environments. In fact, this is true for all the Sabi Sabi safari lodges; at Bush Lodge, Little Bush Camp, and Selati Camp.
On this note we as a tourism company are all about leaving a positive impact and caring for the surrounding areas that we operate in. So if you book any Safari lodge through us, we can give you the option to directly invest time or finances into uplifting a small impoverished town, contributing to the Rhino conservations or any other organisation that demonstrates caring towards our environment.
Back to Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge; it’s got 13 luxuriously designed suites and has quite a natural and open interior look. Almost putting you at one with the surrounding bush and wildlife. Each morning and afternoon you may depart the lodge for a great safari activity. Choosing between a game drive or guided bush walks. We highly recommend doing at least one guided bush walk when on safari, as this is a completely different experience, compared to the game drives. It puts you at eye-level with the wildlife for a completely new perspective.
The beach element of a trip cannot be rushed. Which is why we recommend a 3-night minimum stay. White Pearl Resort – that’s located on the shores of Mozambique – is the perfect fit for a bush and beach experience. It blends nicely with the quality and luxury level of Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge but gives you a different eco-system to explore – one with beach sand and crisp, salty waters.
The resort has 2 room types, a Beach Pool Suite and a Pool Suite. The main difference between the 2 is that one has direct beach access and the other doesn’t. However, the level of luxury is pretty much the same. Apart from offering mostly beach or water-based activities and spa treatments, White Pearl also runs a Maputo Special Reserve Trip which takes you on a game drive into Maputo Elephant Reserve.
