The dry southern winter months of May to September are preferred months to visit Kruger. It is during the early spring months of August and September that many of the animals have their offspring. Some tourists prefer however to visit when Kruger is green and lush during the rainy summer season from November to April when it can at times be very hot with day temperatures approaching 40°C. It is during this time occasional flooding can be expected making parts of the park inaccessible after heavy thunderstorms.
