Best time to travel:
The best time to visit Etosha National Park is between May and December for general game viewing. The rainy months from January to March are amazing in their own way and almost worth a second visit.
This is the gate way to Northern Namibia and Ovamboland. The name “Etosha” literally means: “Great white area” and it refers to the wide open dry pans during the dry season that dominate central Etosha National Park. It is well known for its floodlit waterholes at all main camps which makes it a photographer’s paradise. Visits to Etosha should as a rule always include part of the wet season.
